Unlimited tenure of office at every level encourages
perpetuation of personal power, and gives rise to dynastic impulses.
To prevent these tendencies, Lok Satta advocates:
- Term limitations - 2 terms and 10 years - for elective office
at any level
- If a person completes two terms at one level, say one tier
of local government, he can contest for office in other tiers,
or at other levels
